 estern colonialism has marked much of the modern world in various ways\, e
 specially through (Christian) theological ideas and assertions. Outside of
  one having a sense of awareness of colonialism’s impact\, how does one 
 break away from this systematic and theological haunting? How does one beg
 in to repair the social\, cultural\, and theological fissures colonialism 
 has wrought? One must commune with resistance\, learning the language of t
 he affected and oppressed—and commit to them through courageous practice
  and re-imagination. Liberation from colonial ghosts requires learning fro
 m and practicing decolonial approaches.\nThis class centers voices\, ideas
 \, and responses that embody a decolonial response in their approach to Ch
 ristian discourse\, or how Christianity’s reach\, influence\, and values
  have been historically articulated. Such a response magnifies liberation 
 in its commitment to resisting multiple modes of supremacy.\nCourse Object
 ives\nThrough this course students will:\n\nActively identify where coloni
 alism and its residual ideas are embedded in Western Christian theological
  values\, social ideas\, and practice (including those closest to them)\;\
 nExplore how various voices and communities have resisted and subverted co
 lonialism’s efforts to mark and make certain identities\, and\;\nExperim
 ent with creating and articulating a decolonial theological framework grou
 nded in liberative discourse that they believe will be helpful for their c
 urrent or future church or religious organizational setting.\n\nContent Wa
 rning:\nPlease be advised: Materials students will engage with in this cla
 ss include and/or speak to various violences (physical\, sexual\, psycholo
 gical\, and social\, etc.)\, misogynoir\, sexism\, heterosexism\, racism\,
  patriarchy\, and white supremacy. These and other issues will be broached
  during this course. This course also centers and engages the stories and 
 work of ethnically minoritized voices. Registration and continuation in th
 is class communicates your willingness to thoughtfully engage said materia
 ls and conversations concerning said topics.\nCourse Expectations\n\nActiv
 ely participate in a two-hour weekly Zoom course\, engaging in discussions
  and activities\nRead weekly assignment (approx. 20–40 pages\, or equiva
 lent media) and offer critically-reflective thoughts in class\nParticipate
  in at least 5 of the 6 classes\nAttend at least 1 of the 2 accompanying c
 olloquia (public virtual events with guest scholars on January 29 and Febr
 uary 19 - further details coming soon)\nComplete final project crafting a 
 decolonial theology (due March 3)\n\nCost structure:\nThree tiers\, pay wh
