This 60-minute talk explores the neurological underpinnings of fatigue and anxiety. Attendees will learn how the brain’s structure and function influence energy levels and stress responses. The session will provide practical brain-based strategies to manage and reduce feelings of exhaustion and anxiousness, empowering participants to improve their mental and physical well-being.

In this 60-minute session, participants will explore practical strategies to thrive amid chaos. The talk emphasizes self-compassion over self-confidence, the power of play to spark creativity, and focusing on energy rather than time management. Through reflection and conversation, attendees will define personal success and create action plans to boost mental stamina and emotional resilience for flourishing during chaotic times of transition.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this talk, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of self-compassion over self-confidence during periods of change and uncertainty.
  2. Name strategies to incorporate play as a tool for creativity and emotional well-being.
  3. Demonstrate how to track and manage energy expenditure to improve productivity and balance.
  4. Create a personalized definition of success and develop actionable plans to build mental stamina and emotional resilience.

Rev. Tom Smith, PCC, blends his corporate experience and ministry background to help clients overcome anxiety, build confidence, and enhance happiness. Drawing on neuroscience and Christian faith, he creates a trusting, transformative coaching environment. Having personally conquered social anxiety, Tom shares openly: “Anxious thoughts no longer hold me back from living my values.”

With a diverse career spanning fire protection engineering, commercial lines insurance leadership, ordained ministry, certified brain science coach, and professionally certified life coaching, Tom brings a unique, holistic perspective. He serves on the professional development team for the Wisconsin chapter of the International Coaching Federation and coaches for various organizations, including the ELCA.

In 2022, Tom founded Ridgeview Coaching to fulfill his passion for empowering personal and professional growth in others. Outside of coaching, he enjoys RVing with his family and writing a science fiction novel about hope and resilience.
