In collaboration with ELCA Indigenous Ministries and Tribal Relations and in attunement with the Truth and Healing Movement of the ELCA, and moving toward right relationship with our Indigenous siblings and neighbors, ELCA Coaching invites you to join us for this opportunity "to learn the true history and current realities of Indigenous people. It is these truths, truths that have been ignored by most for hundreds of years, that will bring healing for both Indigenous people and non-Indigenous people."

This online event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, at 3-4pm Hawaii | 4-5pm Alaska | 5-6pm Pacific | 6-7pm Mountain | 7-8pm Central | 8-9pm Eastern | 9-10pm Atlantic. (Time zones may vary with Daylight Saving Time. We do our best to include other time zones as we understand them to be. Please double-check your time zone against the Central time noted. Times noted at the top of this page are in Central time.)

You are invited to a screening of Native Nations: Standing Together for Civil Rights, a one-hour documentary exploring the role of the Lutheran church in the American Indian civil rights movement of the 1970s and 1980s. In the documentary you will learn how the American Indian Movement persuaded Lutherans to respond, how they stood in solidarity with the movement and Indigenous people in the United States, and about the creation and work of the National Indian Lutheran Board.

This documentary was produced by the ELCA and premiered nationally in 2008, broadcast on ABC affiliates across the country. Read more about this historic film here.
