What does property coaching involve?
Property Coaching is a pilot program that connects congregations facing significant property-related decisions with trained coaches who bring expertise in areas such as stewardship, change management, Land Back, transition, and grief. A congregation may choose to engage a coach to work with a team of congregational leaders, the church council, and/or the pastor. The congregation and coach will determine the details of the engagement together, including goals, meeting frequency, and desired outcomes. Congregations participate at a subsidized rate and are asked to provide feedback through evaluation activities that will help strengthen and expand the program.

How do we connect with a coach?
Contact your synod office or the ELCA Church Property Resource Hub to learn more about this opportunity and begin the coaching process. The ELCA Coaching Network will provide a list of potential coaches for your congregation to interview. After selecting a coach, the Church Property Resource Hub will subsidize the coaching arrangement and gather feedback to help improve the program and expand access for additional congregations and synods.

Where can we find property resources for our congregation?
A ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the Church Property Resource Hub is an online platform that connects congregation and synod leaders with information, organizations, and guidance for faithful and effective property stewardship.
The Hub offers how-to guides on a wide range of property topics, stories of congregations that have responded creatively to property challenges, and access to professionals who can answer questions and support your congregation's efforts.
