Active Listening

How might active listening frame how we lead and even encourage others to lead? Join us on Wednesday, September 14, as we hear from ELCA Coach Melissa Schroeder.

Melissa is passionate about following Jesus, being a mother of three young adult children and wife to an ELCA pastor.  She is a certified Spiritual Director, Retreat Leader, an ELCA Level 2 Mission Development & Congregational Vitality Coach, and she has completed the ACC Training and Mentor Coaching. Melissa is currently working toward ACC accreditation with the ICF. She has Mediation training through the Lombard Peace Institute and Leadership Development training through the Indiana Bankers Association. In her previous career, Melissa was a VP Retail Administrator at a community bank. Ministry, faith formation, church leadership development and transformation are where her heart is in this call of coaching.

We will gather together online, begin with an introduction and time of centering, then we will briefly learn (or be reminded of) the basics of one of a number of coaching skills. This time will be followed by small groups in breakout rooms to practice this skill with each other on real and relevant topics that you bring with you that day so that you may leave our time together feeling empowered, valued, and prepared for your next most faithful step.

We invite you to bring a spirit of curiosity to these gatherings and to all aspects of your life. What are you noticing? Where is Spirit moving? How are you being invited to participate?
